Maserati GranCabrio Fendi 2012

The Maserati GranCabrio Fendi is crafted at the historical Maserati headquarters in Modena, with exclusive materials bespokely created in various colours for this project. The three-layered body colour named Grigio Fiamma Fendi is a special dark grey with an iridescent golden finish on the surface. The wood trim Pergamena Fendi runs across the width of the dashboard, on the doors and on the top of the gear lever, all in the iconic FENDI yellow, like the brake callipers and the embroidered yellow trident on the headrests. Maserati GranCabrio 2011

Maserati GranCabrio – four proper seats, comfortable, inviting and all-enveloping. Never before had an open-top Maserati offered so much. Never before had a car with the Trident badge allowed an entire family or four friends to enjoy a journey in the open air. The Maserati GranCabrio’s magical chemistry starts when you look at it: it is shockingly beautiful, with the soft top up or down. Indeed it features a sophisticated canvas top, for very precise reasons, which can be summed up in three words: «centre of gravity». Fabric, ultra-high tech fabric, weighs very little, infinitely less than metal and helps the car’s road-holding: the overall system weight is just 65 kg. And then fabric is pliant, it complements the palette of the car’s exterior colours six times over, the number of shades in which it is available, from a solid black to a high-tech titanium grey, to a warm chocolate colour. Twenty eight seconds, that’s the time it takes for the Maserati GranCabrio to go back to being a secure cocoon. A flying one too, thanks to a Cx of 0.35 with the roof up, which increases by a mere trifle, to 0.39, with the top down. Read more: Maserati GranCabrio 2011

Maserati GranSport Spyder 2006

The GranSport Spyder is unveiled for the first time at Frankfurt. The great success of the GranSport coupé due to the thrilling drive and excellent performance, spurred Maserati into offering its clients a sportier model. This version maintains the aggression and temperament of the original and combines it with the pleasures to be gained from open air driving. The sporty design of the new GranSport Spyder is emphasised, as in the coupé, from the front bumper. A pronounced spoiler hugs the bottom and the side under-door skirting harmonises the look of the car. This is completed by the 19" wheels inspired by the race cars that compete in the Trofeo Maserati. The interior is a blend of carbon, leather and BrighTex® fabric and lend the cabin the feel of a racing car. Powering this particular model is a 4.200cc V8 that puts out 400bhp. The exhaust system gives off a full, deep sound. This model will be on sale from March 2006. Read more:Maserati GranSport Spyder 2006

Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary 2004

Maserati presents an exclusive, limited-edition Spyder on the eve of its 90th Anniversary celebrations. The Spyder 90th Anniversary features an all-new Blue Anniversary livery. A grey outlining has been added to frame the front headlight cluster, creating an appeal contrast and highlighting the front of the vehicle. The new colour scheme brings out all the vigour of this droptop. The body kit comprising the sports windscreen and door sills only add to this feel. This version of the Spyder is also fitted with two aerodynamic headrests in blue carbon wire, a feature that recalls the close ties Maserati has always had with the racing world. The classic red tinged Trident takes pride of place in the centre of the chrome grille, itself resplendent against the blue livery. This symbol, teamed with the ‘ball-polished’ chrome door handles and the 19" rim wheels emphasise the natural gleam of the aluminium. The exterior look is completed by the titanium coloured brake calipers and the distinctive oval logos on the bumpers, a tribute to the 250F driven by Fangio in the 1957 F1 World Championship. The interior too has been given a special finish that complements the overall look. Read more: Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary 2004

Also taking part in the launch were Giorgietto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, who designed the Spyder. Montezemolo told those gathered that he was proud to be unveiling the new car in Germany which is Maserati’s largest market. "This is a completely new and profoundly innovative car," he declared. "It boasts a V8 engine that delivers 390bhp, a F1-derived Cambiocorsa gear-change system, and a new suspension system. It’s also an exceptional car to drive." Raed more: Maserati Spyder 2003
