Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder 2012
As predicted earlier by CAR, here is the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder – essentially an open-top Balboni. It’s a rear-wheel drive Gallardo roadster and will cost £158,797.60 in the UK. We love that 60 pence bit of the price tag! With the Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder, we are expanding the Lamborghini line-up with a purist model that adds yet another dimension of driving fun,’ said Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. This will appeal in particular to a very special group of customers that enjoy a spirited driving style and also like to experience the sheer pleasure of open- air driving. This special model with rear-wheel drive is a logical expansion of our line-up of spyder models with all-wheel drive. Read more: Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder 2012

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster 2010
With the plethora of hot metal being released at this month’s Frankfurt auto show, it’s of little surprise that stuff keeps trickling out. We can now add the 2010 Lamborghini Reventón Roadster to the list of too-hot-to-hold-onto reveals, as the first pictures of the topless, road bound cruise missile have surfaced on Autocar.com. Based on the Murciélago, but with more sinister styling, loads more carbon fiber, and a jet-fighter-inspired cockpit, fewer than 20 examples will reportedly be built, with each carrying a price tag likely well in excess of $1 million. Power will likely come from the same 641-hp, 6.5-liter V-12 found in the hardtop, with a six-speed automated manual and all-wheel drive comprising the rest of the drivetrain. Performance also should be similar, with 60 mph arriving in as little as 3.4 seconds. However, the roadster’s top speed is likely to be a bit less than the 224 mph claimed for the coupe. Inside, expect acres of Alcantara and more carbon fiber, as well as unique aviation-themed LCD instrumentation. Read more: Lamborghini Reventon Roadster 2010

In this post we are talking about Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster 2010

Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster 2010
The new 650-4 features the most powerful engine in a drop top Lamborghini to date, a version of the company’s ubiquitous V12 massaged out to 6.5 liters and 650 horsepower. As the "-4" extension indicates, the Murcielago LP560-4 Roadster carries permanent all wheel drive which should help to keep it on the road in the hands of drivers whose wallets outweigh their skill. AWD helps the heavier roadster version of the Murcielago make it to 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.4 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 205 mph. For comparison purposes, the 2WD standard-trim Murcielago Roadster takes 3.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h. Read more: Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster 2010

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder 2009
From the first day Lamborghini announced its new and improved Gallardo LP560-4, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it was only a question of time until the Gallardo Spyder received the same treatment. Like the coupe, the LP560-4 Spyder loses 44 lb and gets 200 cc added to its V-10 engine — a new, 5.2L aluminum unit with 552 hp, 398 lb-ft on tap. Mated to the updated engine is Lambo’s reprogrammed e.gear six-speed transmission that Lamborghini claims shifts 40% faster in the sportiest "corsa" mode. The improvements led to a claimed 0-to-62-mph time of 4.0 sec and a top speed of 201 mph for the LP560-4 Spyder according to the automaker. At the same time, Lamborghini points out that both fuel economy and CO2 emissions are substantially improved. The outgoing Gallardo Spyder achieved 10/15 mpg with the stick and 10/16 mpg with the e.gear, but the LP560-4 gets 12/20 with the stick and 13/20 with the e.gear. Impressive numbers for a supercar. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster 2007
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster benefits from the same extensive modifications to the bodywork and mechanics as the LP640 Coupé, as well as delivering its own distinct character. In their re-interpretation of the Roadster, the designers of the Lamborghini Centro Stile have remained true to the original style principles of purism, sportiness and functionality. As with the Coupé it has now assumed a more aggressive appearance, a substantial influence being the new front and rear bumpers. On the latter there is a new rear diffuser, in which the exhaust system is integrated within a tailpipe. The rear lights are also new, increasing the distinguishing features and making the Murciélago Roadster as unmistakable at night as in daylight. The asymmetrical design of the sides is particularly striking. Whilst the area behind the air inlet on the right is almost closed, on the left there is a large opening for the ventilation of the oil cooler. This, in addition to the aerodynamic form of the front and rear, is an illustration of how functionality dictates the shape of a Lamborghini. Read more: Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster 2007

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder 2006
The new Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder features a number of important modifications to the original engine and transmission from the Coupe. The 10-cylinder 4961 cc propulsion unit now develops 520 bhp at 8,000 rpm. The six-speed gearbox now has lower ratios (1st gear is 27% lower, 2nd gear is 13%, 3rd / 4th / 5th gears are all 6% lower, while 6th gear is 3.5% lower), which create a more dynamic performance. Like the other models in the range, the Gallardo Spyder also benefits from aluminum bodywork and features permanent four-wheel drive. And finally, its performance figures: the Gallardo Spyder – which complies with EURO 4 homologation standards – reaches a top speed of 314 km/h with the roof up and 307 km/h with the roof down, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds. Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster 2004
Presented as a concept car in 2003 in Detroit – where it generated significant interest among Italian supercar enthusiasts – the production version of the Murciélago Roadster makes its official debut at the Geneva Show 2004. Manufacture and sales are planned for the second half of this year for the Roadster. The latest arrival at the House of the Raging Bull takes its inspiration from the great Italian tradition of open vehicles. As powerful, fast and extreme as the Coupé version from which it derives, the Lamborghini Murciélago carries on Lamborghini’s twelve cylinder roadster tradition: from the 350 GTS to the Miura Roadster, right up to the most recent Diablo Roadster. This has been achieved without compromising the performance expected from a real Lamborghini. Thanks to accurate design, the open version also delivers excellent handling, acceleration and driving safety characteristics. Read more: Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster 2004

In this post we are talking about Lamborghini Diablo Roadster 1996

Lamborghini Diablo Roadster 1996
The Lamborghini Diablo ("Devil" in English) was a high-performance supercar built by Lamborghini of Italy between 1990 and 2001. Lamborghini began developing the Diablo in 1989 as a replacement for the Countach model, introducing it for sale on January 21, 1991 at a base price of USD $240,000. Power came from a 5.7 litre, 48 valve version of the legendary Lamborghini V12 featuring dual overhead cams and computer-controlled multi-point fuel injection, producing 492 horsepower (367 kW) and 427 foot-pounds (579 N·m) of torque. The vehicle could reach 60 mph in slightly over 4 seconds, with a top speed of 202 miles per hour (325 km/h). As in the Countach, the Diablo was rear wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance. Read more: Lamborghini Diablo Roadster 1996
Lamborghini Miura Roadster 1968
In this post we are talking about Lamborghini Miura Roadster 1968

Lamborghini Miura Roadster 1968
The Lamborghini Miura is a sports car built in Italy by Lamborghini between 1966 and 1973. A mid-engined layout had been used successfully in competition, including by the Ford GT40 and Ferrari 250 LM at Le Mans. De Tomaso had produced a road car with this layout, the Vallelunga, but otherwise cars designed for the road were almost uniformly front-engined, rear drive vehicles. The Miura was a trendsetter, the one that made the mid-engined layout de rigueur among two-seater high performance supercars. It is named after the Spanish ranch Miura, whose bulls have a proverbial attack instinct. Inspired by the Ford GT40, the Miura astonished showgoers at the 1965 Turin Motor Show where only the chassis was shown, with multiple orders being placed despite the lack of an actual body. Later, Marcello Gandini from Bertone, who would later go on to design almost all of Lamborghini’s cars, was chosen to design the body. Both body and chassis were launched five months later at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. It was a sensation, with its flamboyant bodywork and unusual engine and clam-shell opening hoods on both the front and rear of the car. There was a small trunk located in the very rear of the tail behind the engine. Read more: Lamborghini Miura Roadster 1968

Lamborghini 350 GTS Spider 1966
The Lamborghini 350GT was the first production car by Lamborghini, first shown at the Turin Motor Show in 1963.
The car featured a 3.5 litre quad-cam V-12 engine (hence its designation), independent rear suspension (while Ferrari still used live rear axles) and a controversial 2+1 semi-fastback body by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. Read more: Lamborghini 350 GTS Spider 1966
